Skelleftea had beaten Swiss opposition in the form of Servette in round three, but unbeaten Davos looked to provide a tough test. Yet the Swedish side were on course for another win when Andreas Johnson put them ahead in the seventh minute, only for Brendan Lemieux to level before the first period was out.

But in the second, Skelleftea took control with a second from Johnson and one from Mikkel Aagaard a minute later, before Viggo Nordlund made it 4-1 early in the third period. Davos threatened a comeback after Filip Zadina's goal midway through the period, but a quickfire double from Jonathan Pudas sealed a 6-2 victory for the table-topping side, who have 12 points from a possible 12, as Davos slip to sixth and stay on eight points.

Reigning champions Frolunda suffered the first loss of their title defence against Kolner in round three, but they bounced back with a 5-3 success on the road at Storhamar in Norway. Patrik Puistola and Joe Gatenby ensured the teams were level after period one, then Henrik Tommernes and Linus Hogberg strikes put the away side ahead after David Larsen gave the Norwegian club a surprise lead.

Storhamar wouldn't back down, and Amil Krupic made it 3-3 in the final minute of the second period, but in the third, Frolunda finally showed their class, as a second from Hogberg and one from Lars Johansson wrapped up the win. The Gothenburg side are seventh, while Storhamar are in 14th after one win in four.

There was less for fans of the Finnish clubs to be happy about as KooKoo and SaiPa both fell to home defeats. KooKoo led 1-0 after 20 minutes against Pardubice but three goals in less than two minutes turned the match in favour of the visitors, who added another three in the final period to run out 6-3 winners, as Jachym Kondelik scored twice.

In Lappeenranta, Slovak side Nitra twice took the lead through Brett Pollock and Hugo Kovac, but twice SaiPa equalised through Mikko Perttu and Brian Kramer. However, there would be no opportunity for the hosts to respond to Dmytro Timashov putting Nitra ahead for a third time, as the strike for 3-2 came just over a minute into overtime.

SaiPa are still comfortably inside the top 16, but KooKoo are looking over their shoulder, currently sitting in 15th place on four points, three fewer than SaiPa.
