Eredivisie Team of the Week: Full-backs steal the show in high-scoring week

Here are the eleven top performers from round 3 of the Eredivisie, according to Flashscore's new-and-improved in-house player rating system.

Goalkeeper

Marc ter Stegen (Ajax) - 8.1

Ter Stegen finally held his first clean sheet as Ajax goalkeeper and did so in style, denying Telstar on two big occasions to keep his side in the driver's seat. In total, the German recorded 5 saves in Ajax's 4-0 win in Velsen-Zuid.

Defenders

Sergino Dest (PSV) - 9.0

Dest has been on a tear for PSV. The American right-back has been involved in at least one goal in all of his three Eredivisie games this season, adding another goal and assist in PSV's dominant 6-1 win away at FC Utrecht on Sunday. Besides that, Dest was dominant in duels (9/11 won), completed 27 of 31 passes in the final third, and was fouled a staggering 7 times.

Oliver Braude (Heerenveen) - 9.0

Oliver Braude showed why he's a sought-after defender ahead of the transfer deadline. The Norwegian right-back gave Heerenveen the lead after 78 minutes and had a goal-line clearance in the 2-2 draw against Willem II. Braude was an offensive force to be reckoned with, recording a game-high 4 shots and 23 passes in the final third.

Bart van Rooij (FC Twente) - 9.0

FC Twente continued a decent start to their season with a dominant 4-1 win away at lowly Cambuur. Bart van Rooij hasn't been his usual high-quality self, but was back to his best again at Cambuur, assisting Ruud Nijstad's opening goal, completing 76 of 80 pass attempts, and leading all players with 3 key passes.

Mateo Chavez (AZ) - 8.4

Mexican international Mateo Chavez was a showstopper in AZ's 5-2 win against Go Ahead Eagles, scoring perhaps the goal of the day by taking the ball first-time and absolutely blasting it past Kjetil Haug.

He also assisted Lewis Schouten's 2-1 and recorded 2 interceptions, cementing his role as the starting left-back of Eredivisie leaders AZ.

Midfielders

Guus Til (PSV) - 8.7

It was an unusual start to Guus Til's season, with 0 goals in 3 games not representative of the player he is. He finally ended his goal drought on Sunday, bagging a brace in PSV's rout in Utrecht. He did exactly what he was asked to do, standing in the right place at the right time, while also completing 26/29 passes on the side.

Oussama Targhalline (Feyenoord) - 8.6

Starting in place of Charles Vanhoutte, Oussama Targhalline was asked to show Giovanni van Bronckhorst what he's made of. It didn't start well with Targhalline gifting ADO Den Haag the ball before their opening goal, but the Moroccan midfielder gathered himself and turned the game around in the second half.

Targhalline set Ayase Ueda up for the 2-1 with a delightful cross, as well as creating another chance and finishing as the player with the most creative output in the game, which ended in a disappointing 2-2 draw for Feyenoord.

Calvin Twigt (Willem II) - 9.0

Calvin Twigt returned to Tilburg after completing a permanent move from Go Ahead Eagles, and the Willem II fans couldn't be happier after Sunday's 2-2 draw against Heerenveen. Twigt created three big chances - more than any other player in the Eredivisie this weekend - and assisted Devin Haen's equaliser in the 82nd minute, all the while recording a game-high 3 interceptions as well.

Forwards

Jacob Trenskow (Heerenveen) - 9.0

Jacob Trenskow is set to leave Heerenveen with a number of suitors ready to sign him, and it's not hard to see why clubs are lining up for the Danish winger. Trenskow has grown into the absolute leader in attack for Heerenveen, adding a goal to up his season tally to 2 goals and 1 assist after four games. He also added 4 key passes to his game, with 10 passes and 6 crosses into the box both game-highs.

Ro-Zangelo Daal (AZ) - 9.5 (PotW)

AZ are on a roll, and Ro-Zangelo Daal is a big reason why. The young winger showed his massive talent against Go Ahead Eagles, scoring a beautiful brace and creating another big chance, recording 15 progressive carries, 15 touches in Go Ahead Eagles' box, and a total of 4 shots on target - all game-highs.

Steven Berghuis (Ajax) - 9.1

It has been rumoured that Steven Berghuis may leave Ajax before the transfer deadline, but if anything, he keeps showing why he's still valuable to this rebuilding Ajax side. The 34-year-old assisted Davy Klaassen's opener and Tolu's 3-0, while scoring the 2-0 himself. He also completed 24 of 27 passes and recorded 5 recoveries.
