While her teammates struggled with their finishing, Swede Cassandra Korhonen kept her cool, putting HB Koge ahead in the opening minute of the second half. Despite a terrible blunder by Alberte Vingum, the home side held on for the draw and secured the spot in Europe's most prestigious club tournament. 

The tension in the final minutes was entirely self-inflicted, as HB Koge could have put the match to bed as early as the first half.

Kyra Carusa squandered big chances on two occasions, while Nadia Nadim also missed a golden opportunity in front of goal.

Their aim was evidently fine-tuned during the interval as it took just 49 seconds of the second half for the home team to deservedly take the lead.

Captain Mille Gejl drove the ball forward and played a brilliant through-ball to Cassandra Korhonen, who put "the Swans" in front.

Ten minutes later, Nadia Nadim thought she had made it 2–0, but a Koge player in an offside position obstructed the goalkeeper's view, turning wild celebrations into sheer bewilderment.

National team coach Jakob Michelsen was among the 1,195 spectators at the stadium in Koge, and he was hardly pleased to see his backup goalkeeper, Alberte Vingum, commit a costly error in the 63rd minute.

A weak shot trickled right through the hands and legs of the HB Koge keeper, suddenly injecting tension back into the match.

Despite the nerves and a failure to capitalize on promising counter-attacking opportunities, the HB Koge players were ultimately able to celebrate their qualification. A total of 18 teams are participating in the Champions League league phase, where HB Koge will play six matches in their bid to be among the 12 teams advancing to the knockout stage.

This marks the second time HB Koge has participated in the Champions League main tournament, which has changed format since the team's last appearance. In 2021, the team lost all six group matches with an aggregate score of 2–22.
