FC Midtjylland was a level above their opponents as they demolished Sundby Boldklub on Thursday night to book their progress in the Danish Cup tournament

Defending champions Mike Tullberg and his squad entered the competition in the fourth round and And "Wolves" arrived at Amager hungry for victory.

The match was effectively decided in the first half, as FC Midtjylland proved far superior to the third-division side, who were unable to put up any real resistance at Sundby Idraetspark.

The rout began after half an hour, when Julius Emefile stepped up to put FC Midtjylland in front. Just three minutes later, Kjell Wätjen made it 2–0, controlling the ball and emphatically blasting it into the net past goalkeeper Lucas Poulsen.

Wätjen also made it 3–0 nine minutes later, this time tapping a cross from Mileta Rajovic over the line. In the closing minutes of the first half as Julius Emefile got in on the action, extending the lead to 4–0. Once again, he was played through into space and showed his class in front of goal.

Mileta Rajovic got on the scoresheet too in first-half stoppage time. The Midtjylland side was awarded a penalty after Sofus Johannesen was brought down, and Rajovic stepped up to take the spot-kick.

The loanee from Legia was clinical, blasting FC Midtjylland into a commanding 5–0 lead before the break. It was his first goal for the club.

In the second half, the travelling FC Midtjylland fans had more goals to cheer about when Friday Etim made it 6–0 in the 68th minute of the cup tie before Emefile completed a hat-trick in the closing stages with a penalty goal.
